Latin Name : Petroselinum crispum from the family Umbelliferae
Native to central and southern Europe yet now cultivated widely throughout the world in many varieties.
One of the oldest herbs known to man it has had many uses. Greeks wove it into garlands for victors of the games and fed it to their horses! The Romans however consumed vast quantities of it and used it to discourage intoxication and to cover strong odours. Add raw to salads, egg dishes, vegetable soups and to enhance bland food add towards the end of cooking.
