Grown widely all over the world, from as far apart as India, Africa, Australia, parts of the United States, Southern America and South East Asia. It has a strong citrus flavour and is typical in Thai and Vietnamese cuisines. Particularly good in stews, curries and casseroles, especially those made with chicken and seafood.
