Latin Name : Coriandrum sativum.
Also know as Chinese parsley, Fragrant Green, Dhania Pattar amongst others. Native to southern Europe and the Middle East it is mentioned in the old Testament and seeds have been found in Ancient Egyptian tombs.
Cultivated for over 3000 years and brought to Northern Europe by the Romans. Was very popular in England up until Tudor Times. Leaves can be used in curries, stews salads and are superb in poultry dishes. The seeds ground can be used in tomato chutney, ratatouille as well as apple pies, biscuits and marmalade.
