Originated in South-East Asia and have grown in the tropics since ancient times. It is a versatile healthy fruit, which grows upwards, in bunches on a huge plant that is actually a herb! It has antacid and antibacterial properties, is rich in potassium, iron and magnesium. Culinary tip - Can be baked in their skins, barbecued, added to curries and rice dishes as well as be used in milk shakes added to ice cream and used in the making of banoffi pie.
